I am a horrible blogger. I have been so busy with work and chasing after the girls, they are becoming more mobile (not full time walkers yet) but all that adds up to ZERO free time for Mama to blog. Which is perfectly fine with me cause there isn't anything else I would rather be doing- other than maybe getting a massage or a day at the spa! :)
Backing up to February 20th, we both took the day off work to stay home and celebrate with our girls. 1 short year ago they were placed in our arms. It was nice to have the day to reflect on this last year. John and I both agree that it has been the best one so far.
I will say that I took a stroll down memory lane and looked at all the photos from that day, tried not to cry, but I was unsuccessful! Still have to pinch myself sometimes because it just seems so unreal. These girls have made all our dreams come true. It was love at first sight, who am I kidding, even before that...I was in love the night Mrs. Peggy called me!
We enjoyed our day spent with our girls!
The next few weeks we were on pins and needles waiting for Spring break to hurry and get here! John and I (or maybe just John) had a list of things that we wanted to do in and around the house.
To pass the time we got creative around the house! haha!
Who says that clothes baskets don't make a good toy?!?
John pulled them around in this basket for a good 30 minutes. And if it wouldn't have been bedtime, they would have wanted to do it longer!
Marlie and Madisyn have also been formally introduced to the plastic bowl/sippy cup cabinet. And they LOVE it!
To put it simply, there is never a dull moment around our house. We are always doing or finding something to entertain our 2 angels. They are learning new things everyday! And both can be very mischievous at times!
Marlie is going to be our little walker, she is already taking 5 or 6 steps at a time. I am just waiting for her to decide that she wants to be a full time walker. Marlie is soo loving! I just love when she gives me her sweet slobbery kisses!
She is our little chunky monkey. I could just eat up her little chunky legs!
My Madi... this girl is something else!
She stays in such a hurry, I don't know if she will ever walk. She can get to where she wants to go faster if she crawls. And trust me she can crawl faster than any baby I have ever seen. She can be in the living room and within 1 second she is in the bathroom trying to play in the toilet. (yes she has tried and maybe succeeded once).
Madisyn is going to be the talker of the 2. She already says: DaDa, MaMa, cow cow, go go and Whas at? (what's that?)
Madisyn is also a Paw-Paw's girl through and through.
This picture just makes my heart smile!
The week before Spring Break Madisyn came down with a bad cold. I knew it was only a matter of time before Marlie was sick too. Sure enough the first part of our break was spent wiping snotty noses, taking vapor baths, taking medicine every 4 hours, and rubbing down with vicks vapor rub!
My poor babies just felt yucky. Thankfully it lasted just a week! And I am happy that I was able to be off to rock and hold my sick babies. Although a Spring Break do-over would be nice!
We just had one day left of Spring Break and I knew exactly what I wanted us to do....
Zoo Trip! It was Friday and after being couped up all week we were ready to break out!
We are so excited!
Let's go see some animals!
Madi thinks she is something riding on Daddy's shoulders.
Marlie wanted to walk everywhere!
At the halfway point, we stopped for lunch and poor Marlie Jayne couldn't fight it any more! Her zoo trip was over. Madisyn saw her opportunity to take her sissy's paci!
Madi was interested in everything! She loved every animal!
Here she is with one of her favorite animals...a cow cow!
Thanks to her Paw-Paw for teaching her this word- we hear it about 100 times a day!
Family photo!
Marlie is still snoozing!
Such a fun day! And a fun way to end our break!
