It's Friday!

I don't know if anyone is more excited than I am for the weekend to get here!
My kids at school are WILD to say the least, we are all just tired and ready for the Summer.  Most have already shut down and refuse to try and do their best, which makes all us teachers scared about state testing that isn't until next week!  We have had more discipline problems this week than we have all year!
So it's safe to say we are all a little stressed!

I am also just ready to be home with my girls!  I miss them so very much!  They are getting so big and doing new things each and every day!  Can't wait to have fun with them this summer!

This is also a very special weekend- Mother's Day!

A day to spend with our Mama's and show them exactly how much they mean to us.

It's also a day that I reflect back to all those years that I cried and longed for a child of my own.  As most of us will be celebrating, some of us won't.  So I ask you to please say a special prayer for those still waiting on their dream to come true.  Everyone that desires it, should have the chance to be a Mother!  It's the greatest, most rewarding job in the world!!

"Her children arise and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praises her."

Showers of Blessings

There shall be showers of blessings....
And sometimes the aftermath is the best part!

I will admit that my husband had to do alot of begging before I would allow this, but after seeing how much fun they had, I was glad that I did!
They are growing into these tiny little ladies right before my eyes.  Their developing personalities are HILARIOUS!  Everyday I realize how extremely blessed that I am.  Things could have been so different.  I will forever be grateful to a young woman that made an adoption plan and gave me the chance to become a Mommy to these 2 precious girls, that are as close to perfect as I've ever seen.

Happy Easter (A Little Early)

Jesus is Risen!
Now after the Sabbath, as it began to dawn toward the first day of the week, Mary Magdalene and the other Mary came to look at the grave.

And behold, a severe earthquake had occurred, for an angel of the Lord descended from heaven and came and rolled away the stone and sat upon it.
And his appearance was like lightning, and his clothing as white as snow.
The guards shook for fear of him and became like dead men.
The angel said to the women, “Do not be afraid; for I know that you are looking for Jesus who has been crucified."
“He is not here, for He has risen, just as He said. Come, see the place where He was lying."
“Go quickly and tell His disciples that He has risen from the dead; and behold, He is going ahead of you into Galilee, there you will see Him; behold, I have told you.”

And they left the tomb quickly with fear and great joy and ran to report it to His disciples.
And behold, Jesus met them and greeted them. And they came up and took hold of His feet and worshiped Him.
Then Jesus said to them, “Do not be afraid; go and take word to My brethren to leave for Galilee, and there they will see Me.”

Let us not forget the true meaning of Easter.

As you can see one of my little Easter angels wasn't in the mood for pictures.  Still made alot of fun memories.
Love them so very much!

Spring Break and Updates

I am a horrible blogger.  I have been so busy with work and chasing after the girls, they are becoming more mobile (not full time walkers yet) but all that adds up to ZERO free time for Mama to blog.  Which is perfectly fine with me cause there isn't anything else I would rather be doing- other than maybe getting a massage or a day at the spa!  :)
Backing up to February 20th, we both took the day off work to stay home and celebrate with our girls.  1 short year ago they were placed in our arms.  It was nice to have the day to reflect on this last year.  John and I both agree that it has been the best one so far.

I will say that I took a stroll down memory lane and looked at all the photos from that day, tried not to cry, but I was unsuccessful!  Still have to pinch myself sometimes because it just seems so unreal.  These girls have made all our dreams come true.  It was love at first sight, who am I kidding, even before that...I was in love the night Mrs. Peggy called me!
We enjoyed our day spent with our girls!

The next few weeks we were on pins and needles waiting for Spring break to hurry and get here!  John and I (or maybe just John) had a list of things that we wanted to do in and around the house.
To pass the time we got creative around the house! haha!

Who says that clothes baskets don't make a good toy?!?
John pulled them around in this basket for a good 30 minutes.  And if it wouldn't have been bedtime, they would have wanted to do it longer!

Marlie and Madisyn have also been formally introduced to the plastic bowl/sippy cup cabinet.  And they LOVE it!

To put it simply, there is never a dull moment around our house.  We are always doing or finding something to entertain our 2 angels.  They are learning new things everyday!  And both can be very mischievous at times!

Marlie is going to be our little walker, she is already taking 5 or 6 steps at a time.  I am just waiting for her to decide that she wants to be a full time walker.  Marlie is soo loving!  I just love when she gives me her sweet slobbery kisses!
She is our little chunky monkey. I could just eat up her little chunky legs!

My Madi... this girl is something else!
She stays in such a hurry, I don't know if she will ever walk.  She can get to where she wants to go faster if she crawls.  And trust me she can crawl faster than any baby I have ever seen.  She can be in the living room and within 1 second she is in the bathroom trying to play in the toilet.  (yes she has tried and maybe succeeded once).
Madisyn is going to be the talker of the 2.  She already says: DaDa, MaMa, cow cow, go go and Whas at? (what's that?)

Madisyn is also a Paw-Paw's girl through and through.
This picture just makes my heart smile!

The week before Spring Break Madisyn came down with a bad cold.  I knew it was only a matter of time before Marlie was sick too.  Sure enough the first part of our break was spent wiping snotty noses, taking vapor baths, taking medicine every 4 hours, and rubbing down with vicks vapor rub!
My poor babies just felt yucky.  Thankfully it lasted just a week!  And I am happy that I was able to be off to rock and hold my sick babies.  Although a Spring Break do-over would be nice!

We just had one day left of Spring Break and I knew exactly what I wanted us to do....
Zoo Trip! It was Friday and after being couped up all week we were ready to break out!

We are so excited!
Let's go see some animals!

Madi thinks she is something riding on Daddy's shoulders.

Marlie wanted to walk everywhere!

At the halfway point, we stopped for lunch and poor Marlie Jayne couldn't fight it any more!  Her zoo trip was over.  Madisyn saw her opportunity to take her sissy's paci!

Madi was interested in everything!  She loved every animal!

Here she is with one of her favorite animals...a cow cow!
Thanks to her Paw-Paw for teaching her this word- we hear it about 100 times a day!

Family photo!
Marlie is still snoozing!
Such a fun day!  And a fun way to end our break!

Happy 1st Birthday!

We started the day off great!  The girls woke up around 8, which is sleeping late for them!
John and I had already said that we wanted to start a tradition and take them for breakfast every year on their birthday.  Since I had been so stressed with the party and still had 100 things to do we opted for breakfast at a little country store 10 minutes from the house.  This was the best decision ever!  It meant I didn't have to get dressed up!
This was the first time that our girls experienced "Granny's Corner" and they LOVED it!
They had biscuits, eggs, and grits!  I think if we would have allowed it, Marlie would still be eating!  That girl loves her some food!
They even got a little taste of chocolate milk.

Mom! This is the best place ever!  Please can we come back every Saturday?!

Madisyn was so goofy acting.  She was showing off in front of everybody!

When we got back home it was playtime, then bath time, then nap time.  I can't believe everything actually worked out like I had planned.  I wanted the girls to nap before the party started so hopefully they would be in a good mood.  My plan worked out even better because they were in GREAT moods!
Around 1:30 they woke up which was perfect!  We got them ready and walked down the hallway to enter the Best Minnie Party Ever!  :)

Madisyn waits patiently while I try to fix Marlie's hair.

All ready!  Let's go see what this party is all about!

Time to open some presents!

Blowing out the candles!  Marlie is already trying to get her cake!

The moment I had been dreading!  Cake smash time!
I am the Mama that tries to keep her children clean at all times.  I constantly have wipes in my purse.  So I knew that I may have a few heart palpitations when they started smearing cake everywhere.

They were a little unsure at first!

But soon got the hang of it!

Can you tell that this little girl enjoyed her cake?!?!

After a quick clean up it was time to go outside and swing in their new swings!
It was such a pretty day!

So glad that some of our special friends came to celebrate with us!

The party was over before we knew it and I finally got to sit down!
It was a great day to have a party and a great day to spend time with those that we love and that love and adore our girls!

Hoping that this year goes by alot slower than the first!

Happy Birthday My Sweet Girls!
